Birth Stories

Sharing stories of birth is a tradition between generations of women since the beginning of civilization. As our cultures have changed, women hear fewer and fewer stories of birth from the generation before them. Our goal is to share with our readers as many birth stories as possible from women who have had, or attempted to have, a Vaginal Birth After Cesarean (VBAC).  Stories to inspire and lift each other up, and to show that we can learn more from each others experiences than we can from a textbook explanation of birth. We can empower each other to visualize the possibilities that we can have for our births.

Please do not distribute or copy the stories or pictures shared on Combat Boot Mama without the express written permission of the original authors. If you would like to share your VBAC birth story, please email
